Meet the Founder
The mountains taught me how to live.
Hi, I’m Vijay Bhaskaran, a traveler, mountaineer and someone who has been exploring the mountains for the past seven years. Born in a town of Jammu and Kashmir, mountains were never just a backdrop for me, they were in my blood.
I started traveling when I was just 15, and by the time I was 16, I completed the Kashmir Great Lakes (KGL) trek, a dream trail for many. A year later, at 17, I took on an even bigger challenge, my first solo cycling expedition all the way to Singapore.
Over the past seven years, the road and the high altitudes became my ultimate school. I’ve lived the rawest side of mountaineering, and those experiences eventually led me to start Self Packers.
